There’s a lot to see and do in Beaufort County, from over 160 restaurants to sample to in Bluffton alone (and more in nearby Hilton Head) to the Coastal Discovery Museum, from the Society of Bluffton Artists Gallery (currently showcasing local artist Joy Lillith Hermann)to the Bluffton Duathlon Series in May, from the farmers market to Sand Sharks baseball games, from StreetMusic concerts in Port Royal to the Hardeeville Catfish Festival in September . It’s nearly impossible to be bored in Bluffton, SC, because there’s always something fun to do either in Bluffton or close by.

On Shakespeare’s birthday, April 23, 2015, the Coastal Discovery Museum will be taking people on a two hour cruise of the May River. On board the research vessel Spartina, Captain Amer Kuehn will point out the wildlife of the river and salt marsh and answer questions.

The 37th annual Bluffton Village Festival is free. Over 200 vendors will be present, selling arts and crafts, local food, jewelry, and many other treasures. There are contests: an ugly dog contest and a pie eating contest. The entertainment includes two performances by local band Muddy Creek, as well as the Sun City Cloggers, Willie Cohen, Alan Stockard, Bill Dupont, and Ernest Bonner. The Bluffton Village Festival is Saturday, May 9, 2015, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Pizza and Pasta Palooza is a food festival at Oyster Factory Park, on May 15, beginning at 5:00 pm. It will have food, a children’s play area, live music, vendors, and a craft beer garden for the adults. It’s a delicious way to start the weekend.

June 12, 2015, is Blues and Brews on the Bluff. From 5:00 to 9:00 at Oyster Factory Park, Craig Coyne and The Brotherhood of Blues will be performing rock and roll and blues at a beer, music, and food festival. The food court will feature southern BBQ, chicken wings, seafood, hamburgers, and more.
